Watch out Emeril!
sleeping angelWow, I am just amazed that 3 months have passed since Mikey first came home. It seems just moments ago that we stepped off that plane and onto American soil. On the other hand, it seems as though Michael has always been a part of our family and he has grown so much since we made that 15.5 hour trip across the world together. Michael is certainly the center of attention in our house! The girls are absolutley in love with him and they will drag him through the house, including him in thier play. On the occasions when small pieces are involved and Mikey cannot join them he constantly crawls to the closed door where he can hear their voices. Sleeping is (crossed fingers) getting better (uncross fingers), now he seems to be down to one bottle in the night at about 3-4am and he is pretty efficient at sucking it down in a short time and back off to dreamland for another few hours. He has started crawling on his feet, not his knees anymore, which can only mean someone is getting prepared to walk / run! He only lasts 20 minutes or so in the nursery at my moms group, so we are still having some stranger anxiety, but he has just gotten over his first ear infection so that could have caused a bit of "velcro baby" behavior. Michael loves to crawl away, stop, turn around, look at me and smile, and scream and take off again. He also seems to really like to steal socks from the laundry basket and crawl around with them.
Last night the girls watched "Prince of Egypt", a Disney movie about Moses. When we got to the scene where Moses was placed in the basket there were all kinds of questions. We got out our Preschoolers Bible and read the story. When it was prayer time, Katherine actually got teary eyed wanting to know what it felt like for Michael's birthmother when she "gave him away". It was awesome to see an 8 year old with such empathy. We decided we would pray each day that Mikey's birthmother have peace and that she would know how loved he is in our family. It is great having Katherine to prepare us to answer the questions Michael will inevitably have one day.
A little off topic - but did you all see? Andover makes the news once again with 20.3 inches of snow - the most in the TC area in last weeks snow storm! We win? Needless to say I was a bit nervous when the girls schools closed early and I had to venture off to retrieve them in the midst of it, but we made it okay. Michael really wants nothing to do with this cold white mess, but Kate & Ellie are lovin' it.

Happy 3 months home Mikey! It sure seems like you have been with your family much longer. It was so neat to meet you in Korea and now see that you are growing up to be such a handsome, busy boy! Evan will miss you while we are gone but can't wait to get together in a week! Hopefully a blizzard won't deter us from a fun day together again =)
I have finally made it to your new site and I love it! It was so good to catch up on your precious children! I completely understand about the time going fast since we have gotten home and about how it has seemed like they have always been with us. It is unbelievable how quickly they grow and how immediately they become one of the family! Talk to you soon!
